Stillhouse Volunteer Fire Department was founded in 1982 by the citizens of rural Bell County specifically the citizens that lived in the area of Sherwood Shores subdivision. Since its inception the goal of the fire and rescue squad was to provide professional fire and emergency medical first response services to the citizens we serve.
Stillhouse VFD currently has two stations--Station 1 our main station is located at 3000 FM 1670, Belton, TX just south of the Belton City limits on Farm-to-Market Road 1670. Station 2 is located at 3494 Sweet Gum Drive, Belton, TX by an agreement with the Sherwood Shores VI & VIII Association. We are attempting to revamp that station and put it back into service for the citizens we serve in the immediate area.
Stillhouse Volunteer Fire Department is an IRS recognized 501 c 4 organization, and all donations are being used for Public Safety, hence are tax deductible per Publication 78.
The fire department is partially funded through the Bell County Commissioners court, but the majority of our operating expenditures come through donations, fundraising, and the members of the Fire Department.
